Through written, visual and sonic exploration, this study of Lesnes Abbey Wood diverts traditional perspectives on the cultural, psychological, and ecological dimensions of the area. Through a lens, not solely optical, this narrative unravels the intricate tapestry of Abbey Wood’s textural landscape, into the nuanced ways individuals perceive and interact with their surroundings.
Writing intertwines the visual and the auditory, connecting the tangible and intangible aspects of Abbey Wood’s landscape, fostering a richer understanding of the intricate interplay between culture, psychology, and ecology in four specific locations within the inhabited wood. This study embeds a series of improvised cello works, an instrument and process that embodies a psychological examination and experience of the environment.
